Ruler Workshop
Ladies, congratulations on a successful workshop on Saturday. Ten people took part, some new to Westalee. It took a while to get the Westalee Mojo back but the possibilities for the use of the templates are endless. I am sure you would agree that it requires patience and practice to become proficient in their use so now over to you
(PS: We were so busy we forgot to take any photos!)

Letter Challenge

Onwards and upwards and on to our next adventure but PLEASE this is FUN. information in Thanks to Andrea and Annie for coming up with this task. It did require a little bit of scratching of head and MR Google but lets enjoy the task.

The reveal date (too much House Rules) is June 8th for a Saturday and June 11th for a Tuesday. On the 8th, the Saturday, a Lunch of Soup and Rolls will be available but for catering purposes Annie would like to know numbers. Could you please email her direct, to indicate if you will be there. I am sure lunch will be available even if you don't do the challenge as long as you have let Annie know you are coming. On the day place your challenge on the table provided without your name let’s try some guess work!  I would encourage you all to have a go, there are no winners or losers just some laughs and camaraderie.

Healing Heart Quilts

After the mass shootings at Mosques in New Zealand on March 15, 2019, Angels in Gumboots, an arts and crafts shop in Ashurst, wanted to do something to help.  A call out went out to quilters with requests for 6 inch green heart blocks to be made up into lap sized quilts to give to families who lost loved ones, those who were injured and for first responders, emergency services personnel and those working to support those affected by the events of that day.

The response from quilters all around the world was overwhelming and the Facebook page Quilters Healing Hearts was set up in order to coordinate all of the blocks, quilt tops and finished quilts being donated.  There are many pictures of quilts and blocks on that site if you'd like to see.

Members of the Sunbury Stitchers and Quilters made 7 completed quilts and 18 individual green heart blocks to be sent over to Christchurch to show our support.  Thanks to everyone who helped out!

Here are our quilts...

Grandmother's braid show and tell

Di has been working hard on this quilt for a few weeks.  It's a Grandmother's braid she pieced with scraps from her stash and was mostly quilted at Sit n Sew on a Saturday on her regular sewing machine!  Click on the pictures to see them bigger.  It's worth enlarging to see the free motion quilting!
