Over the past few weeks there have been some interesting discussions on various techniques, especially concerning "Quilt as you go". There are a number of methods of doing this and everyone had a different method. It was decided to bring along examples to show and a brief explanation given.

I have included some of the quilts/projects that were displayed.

Mary went to a lot of trouble to make samples of two ways that this could be done, so our thanks to her. Annie also had some quilted samples.

It was a busy night with a small tutorial taking place with Judy V showing and eager group how to make a gift for a baby. Margaret and Annie did a lot of talking so didn't get too far with the ball. There was knitting, applique, piecing, binding all taking place. Best of all was the friendly chatter of ladies enjoying the company after such a along break

It was great to welcome back Heather after a long absence and also a new lady called by whom we hope we didn't frighten away.

Welcome Back!

Meetings have started again at St. Mary's Hall on Tuesdays and at Sit n Sew at The Salvation Army Hall twice a month, on the second and last Saturdays of the month.  Hopefully nothing will prevent them from going ahead!  Our first retreat of 2021 is coming up soon.  I hope I haven't just jinxed it!

Over the lockdown periods a lot of Memory Quilts have been made for Sunshine hospital.  Unfortunately, they always need more.

Here's a selection of some of the many Annie C has made.

Annie also knitted a billion of these cute teddies and made a bag to store them in!

Judy and I have mostly been working together on our tiny baby quilts.  We make them with scraps, donated fabric and orphan blocks.  Sometimes I make the top and Judy quilts it and sometimes she makes the top and I quilt it.  It all depends on which one of us is quilting on the frame at the time and what colour backing we've got leftover on the rails!

Here are a few of the ones I made.

Here are some of Judy's baby quilts.

Between us we have over a hundred ready to hand over!

What have you been making?  Send me pictures and a story if you want them to appear on the blog.
