Last Post before Christmas

 Last post before Christmas

The sewing enthusiasts continue to be out and about.

This week they have been to Fig and Berry. I know they specialise in Christmas designs which include embroidery and applique. It is way over in the Eastern suburbs so well done ladies.
I included this photo which shows moi attending the City of Hume to pick up our grant. I complain before going but this year it was in Sunbury and due to Covid given a grazing box of food each. Of course I was sucked in. I would like to acknowledge Jason Bell above who was very forgiving with our application this year. I did the application in fits and starts with internet issues and not always having the information and detail which was required. Many emails back and forth with Jason. Finally it was sent in although incomplete by the due date. On my return months later well passed the due date I provided the extra information to find we were successful in achieving a $1000 grant. This year it was transferred electronically so I needn’t have gone. However thank you City of Hume.
This photo is one I missed from last week of the Summer Gathering at Ballan.

Once again stay safe and we go along with Omicron! As if we hadn’t had enough.

Merry Christmas all

 They are out and about!

Pictures arrived today making me green with envy. Many of our members were out and about at the Summer Gathering at Ballan. You can see everyone looked suitably festive with their Chrissy hats. I believe two lucky people won prizes too. I think there was a lot of fun and good cheer and probably a little bit of sewing done.

If you do anything related to sewing please forward photos or information and I or someone will try to publish on our blog.

A reminder that should you wish to continue membership with Sunbury Stitchers and Quilters the annual fee (this year only $10) will need to be paid as soon as possible. If you pay by direct deposit please message either myself or Robyn.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a safe and happy Christmas. Especially stay healthy one and all. These are strange times we live in, so take care. Tuesday night recommences on 18th January and Saturday TBA.

I have a selection of photos taken on a Tuesday night that I attended recently. Above is a Christmas wreath made by Robyn. I thought it looked easy so I had some hexis and tried to make the shape - much harder than it looks.
This was made by Lyn Bassin. It is a lovely example of her work. She had to wait patiently to get it quilted by Kerri

This is classic Di. The colours are hers and the quilting she did herself. She is working through her stash. It is called River log cabin.
Judy V showed two examples of baby quilts she had made, well done

This is a bag that Mary brought along. Such a useful size just big enough for a phone. Great for use when walking
Robyn took us through a mini workshop explaining how to use a hoop for embroidery. This is a sample of her work. I tried but my fingers woudn't cooperate and she assured me it needed practise.
This is Annie Micallef who is beginning an applique quilt. This is one block
This is Fiona's bee quilt which is so bright and colourful.
Judy V 's second quilt

Hope you enjoyed seeing photos of exiting things that ladies made during this last lockdown. It is good to be able to meet again and have the opportunity to share our passion for sewing
