There are many things to report with our group so get involved and enjoy the fun!
Bus Trip
The Bus trip is coming up on the 21st October, heading towards Geelong. We will be visiting the Bellarine Sewing Centre, A Little Different, Jiddi’s Patch and Amitie Textiles in Torquay (which has a new café). The cost will be approximately $55.
Sunbury
Street Life Festival – Saturday 19th November
We have confirmed our booking for the festival which
will be held in O’Shanassy Street. Sheila would like some volunteers on the day between the
hours of 10.00 am and approximately 4.00 pm.
Volunteers will stitch, answer queries and hand out
cards etc. As we are not only a quilting
group it was suggested that other forms of needlework should also be
demonstrated on the day.
Christmas
The venue for our Christmas dinner is still being investigated.
Those members wishing to participate in the Christmas
raffle blocks can purchase blocks at 50c each from Evelyn. The blocks should be embroidered with a
Christmas design. Suggested thread was a
multi-coloured DMC 4519. Each completed
block will be exchanged for a raffle ticket and the winner or winners will each
receive a selection of blocks. This takes place at our last meeting in December.
For the annual swap members
have been asked to make something that’s handy for a sewer i.e. sewing pouch,
thread catcher etc. Those contributing
will be allowed to select something in return.
2018 Quilt Show.
For various reasons members have agreed that we delay the 2018 Quilt show to 2019 and also plan the Quilt-In for 2020. We will revisit this issue in 2019.
Busy Fingers
Evelyn and Sheila brought along their projects from Mrs Martin workshop.
Great job!
This is Evelyn's
And Sheila's work!
Sue spent the evening helping Sheila sort some embroidery cotton that had been donated to her!
From chaos comes order!
And finally a close up of Judy' Vs quilt which had featured in previous post.
