Hands on Hands Workshop Day

What a busy busy day. A huge thankyou to Robyn for the organization of the day and the preparation of workshop materials. There was a wealth of activities and freedom to join in if you wish. Robyn had prepared a picture to allow participants to use water colour pencils. A big thank you also to the many people who offered their expertise by running mini workshops. There was an opportunity for show and tell

This is a doona cover made by Mary. She has used a double bed sheet as the backing, which is just right for a queen size bed,

Fiona cut up a panel to make this lovely Easter quilt.
Love the colours Lynne used to make this quilt. The Kaffe Fassett fabric work so well. Love the back too where the fabrics can be shown to perfection

More of Lynne's lovely applique work

This was a panel given to Sheila who has turned it into a quilt for her grandson.
Margaret made this house quilt which is bright and colourful.

Seventeen people attended and there were quite a few still going strong at 7.30. It was lovely to have a visit from Annie C who many haven't seen for ages. Ten people stayed for tea, which was ordered it making it a long but enjoyable day

A bit of light fun after tea. A complicated card game and a sit back and relax, but still others are at work in the background.

Sheila spent the day painting and sewing. She was using Lumiere paints, with which she painted the rose. She had her machine and used two layers of poly batting to make this rose pop.. She then free motion quilted the area in green

A demo showing how to use "Perfect Circles" thanks Robyn.

Making a cutting and ironing board folder for use at workshops..... thank you Judy V

Three ways were demonstrated of how to make a binding. Di showed us an easy as method using pins, Robyn showed us the use of plastic binding tools and a demo was given on how to use the bias makers

Robyn shows us her way of storing things in a folder! Much too organised

Di and Janice both showed their method of doing needle turn applique. Participants were able to practice and try our each method

Using the water colour pencils to paint a picture which could be embroidered or left as is.

Thanks so much for the support of the tutors and demonstrators.  Everyone took part enthusiastically  leading to a fun day where everyone went home tired but having gained new skills. There was yummy cakes and ample tea and coffee available all day.
