Cannot make the Coolie Ties

Unfortunately we have found out that the Coolie scarves we planned to make are not approved by the CFA.  As a group we are very keen to do anything we can to assist.  You may be interested in making animal pouches that are being coordinated through the Romsey Library.  I (Glo) have started to make a few as I show in the following pictures.  They are currently asking for the xx small size pouches and I will attach the link for you to follow and print out the details  I will bring the pattern with me on Saturday as well.
completed pouch
soft flannel insert
outer cover 100% cotton

3 inserts for each cover

Coolie Scarfs for our Firefighters

Hi everyone, I hope you all had a safe Christmas. As we all know our beautiful state is surrounded by bushfires. Our hearts go out to everyone in Australia who have been effected by fires. Yesterday I saw something we could do to help on Facebook. Cool the Fireys - Coolie scarfs for the firefighters.   I know Kay attended a workshop today to help make these.  I thought we could put our talents to work and make some.  Website with instructions are below. I happy to drop them off at the collection point in Elthan. I will buy a tub of crystals and bring them along to our Sit N Sew on Saturday (11th). If you have some spare time and some spare fabric (must be cotton) why not come along this Saturday and make some coolie scarfs for our firefights. The project has been approved by the CFA, the goal is to make 10.000 scarves

Hope to see you on Saturday.

Robyn
Please email me on zibell.robyn.j@edumail.vic.gov.au if you are able to come.

Happy New Year for 2020!

All of you probably have your New Year resolutions ready to go! For me, I have decided why make myself miserable by failing every time!  Instead I will make more UFOs as usual!

If you want some inspiration watch the following video on UTUBE.  I found it fascinating and particularly like the way Victoria Findlay Wolfe goes about creating her masterpieces.

Show and Tell

Sorry!  I've been slacking!  Some of these quilts are so old the maker has probably forgotten they even made them ha ha!  You can click on the pictures to enlarge them.

Di is using up her fabric.

Sheila's creation.

Close up of Sheila's work.

Grace's Eye Spy quilt.

Judy A made this from a doona cover.

The back of the Hogwarts quilt.

I made this log cabin from Joy's fabric.

I used the scraps on the back.

Judy V started this disappearing pinwheel churn dash a while ago.

The quilt holders were too short for this giant quilt made by Sheila!

Sheila started with a panel, added pieced work and appliqué and then free motion quilted it.

Janette embroidered this lovely lady on her machine.

Here's Janette!

Hmm...the back of a quilt.  Where's the front?

This is Julie's first long arm quilt.

Julie did a lot of ruler work.

Kay made these cute unicorns!
